A Challenge

The reason I created this blog was to challenge Christians to pray for the men and women who are serving in the military in the Middle East. Not only should we be praying for their safety, but also for their souls---that those who treasure and cherish Jesus Christ above all things would stand firm in their faith and that those who do not treasure Jesus would come to know and trust in Him alone.

My older brother, who joined the Army two and a half years ago, will be in the Middle East soon. He is a Soldier in the Army serving His country, but more than that he is a Soldier of our Savior serving our Great King and Commander. He will be out on the battlefield fighting physically as well as spiritually. He needs our prayers as do the countless other Soldiers who have sacrificed so much to fight for the freedom of others. Let us pray for these men and women!

Furthermore, let us also pray for the people in the Middle East that they would have more than the freedom the U.S.A. is fighting for, but that they would have spiritual freedom. Pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

My brother is not only a soldier he is also a missionary---a witness of Jesus Christ to the unsaved Soldiers and to the people in the Middle East. He needs constant prayer as He makes much of Christ by sharing the hope of the Gospel with the lost. He and so many other Christian Soldiers need our prayers as they carry out the work of Christ where they are deployed.

God does not need our prayers, but He has commanded us to pray. He uses the prayers of His children. So, let us lift up our voices---let us cry to God on behalf of these men and women who are serving in the military.

History can testify that before God works it mighty ways, He first uses the prayers of His children to spark the flame. He brings us to the point of realizing that we can do nothing in our own strength or power, thus we fall to our knees crying out to Him because He alone can accomplish the impossible.

Pray for our Soldiers. Yes, it may cost us some time and energy, but what are we sacrificing that they aren't? Even more than that, what did Jesus sacrifice to save us from the wrath of God? Jesus paid our penalty with His very life. Oh, let us eagerly sacrifice whatever it takes to pray for our fellow Believers in the military.
